Permit Support / Freshwater Inflow Studies

Sabine River Basin, Texas

TCB inventoried existing data sources and previous investigations for the 9,756-square-mile Sabine River Basin and Sabine Lake, reviewed current water quality monitoring programs, reported on monitoring program adequacy to meet short- and long-term goals, provided geographical information systems (GIS) support, and developed recommendations to improve document and data management. TCB developed strategies for public and agency involvement in various environmental permitting issues and developed a database of regional stakeholders including members of the public, industry, and agencies.

A comprehensive Ecological Condition of the Sabine-Neches Estuary report was developed for SRA-TX. The report inventoried baseline environmental conditions for both the Sabine River Basin and the Sabine-Neches Estuary in order to meet current and future strategic permitting needs for SRA-TX. In support of these permitting applications, TCB provided water resources and environmental planning consulting services including coordination with the TCEQ, WAM modeling, agency and public outreach, and permit application support.
