Houston, Texas
TCB is assisting the City in completing its comprehensive storm drainage plan to reduce existing flooding problems and provide drainage for its future ever-growing developments. In addition, TCB will support the City in its responsibilities as Floodplain Manager of all riverways within the City.
The project calls for TCB to expand the City’s existing Geographic Information and Management System (GIMS) to include storm sewer system information on several areas of the City not currently within GIMS. This includes developing a hydrologic and hydraulic-based Geographic Information Systems (GIS) model to evaluate the City’s storm systems. This model will then be used to identify flood problem areas and to develop a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for designating future flood control projects.
TCB will also assist the City in maintaining and updating a Community Rating System (CRS) and a Floodplain Management Plan. This comprehensive task will entail regular FEMA contact and managing the City’s vast CRS program. |
