TCB provided preliminary, final design, and construction phase services for the Dos Rios pump station at the Dos Rios Water Recycling Center (WRC). TCB developed and analyzed 16 pump station configurations. The recommended configuration maximized the use of existing facilities without additional structures to house the six new reuse pumps and relocated the existing process water pumps.
Final design included an 18-mgd recycled water pump station including pumps, piping, controls, and chlorination system additions to convey treated wastewater effluent from the Dos Rios WRC to the East Houston Reservoir. Three vertical turbine pumps were installed in the chlorine contact basin to avoid construction of a separate structure. A surge analysis was conducted for the pump station and pipeline system and a surge tank was provided at the Dos Rios WRC with a relief valve at the East Houston Reservoir to control system transients. |
