Dams and Hydropower

We are water and resource specialists in the development of projects that convey and store water supplies for municipal, industrial, irrigation and hydropower purposes. TCB’s Dam and Hydropower Specialists have been working on dam projects since 1957 with their first major project involving the design and construction of a 505ft (153m) high concrete arch dam. Since that project, TCB has prepared the designs for hundreds of zoned earthfill, earth and rockfill, concrete arch, gravity and buttress dams, ranging in height from 40 foot to 525 foot, throughout the world. Planning studies have been provided for more than 130 other dams. In addition, TCB has performed dam safety inspections to assess the structural adequacy of over 250 existing dams throughout the world.

The services TCB has provided on these projects range from planning and feasibility studies through the preparation of designs, specifications and construction management.
